This photo taken by Howard Rainier at the Taos Pueblo is part of my collection of Southwest Art.
I think the man looks as though he's trying to decide whether to stay or to go. Or maybe he's just contemplating the world around him. What do you think?
I think he is looking at the beautiful sky and is praying.

There is every which way to interpret this picture. To me it seems he is contemplating something, what I am not sure. I could relate it to my own life and think maybe it is his religion given the religious symbolism.

I agree; great photo. Perhaps he is thinking of how difficult it is to keep whites 'white'. Though it does look like he wants to leave but is just plain too tired.

I think that it's exactly how I felt last night when I said goodbye to my office. To me it looks as though he is saying goodbye to a place he has known well and will miss...but I guess that's what makes it a powerful photo--because it can be interpreted in so many ways.
It is stunning.
