La fete des meres is the annual French Mother's Day celebration on Sunday, May 28th. A shopping complex in my neighbourhood marks the occasion with twelve-foot tall painted plywood blooms in giant flower pots, accompanied by rows of flowering plants. Note the people walking past, all dressed for cold weather. Here it is May 24th and we're wearing trousers and trench coats! It seems spring has gone on holiday!

Oh now that is cool looking.
What did you find out about the door? If anything?

My dear friend is in Paris right now, so I won't believe her when she tells me the weather was beautiful, just to make me feel badly that I didn't go with her!
What amazing flowers! How about those on the patio?

Now that is clever and beautiful:) We had an overly long winter, then two warm weeks and then a storm. Very odd:)
Thanks for your visits. I dread the day I bid Manny a tearful farewell.

How pretty. I love the real flowers in the pot too. Would love one of these "statues" in my back yard. Wouldn't that make the neighbors talk?
Yes, it was chilly and a little rain on and off towards the end in London. A sweet store clerk apologized for he bad weather, I repled, "You do not come to London for the sun!" So true! I enjoyed it, rain and all, tremendously! Need to catch up with you now!!

We've had a return of winter weather too. I'm so tired of this. I want summer!
