The Chinese have never been known for their good manners. As China's tourism industry grows and business booms, many companies have conducted "crash courses" in proper etiquette. Notice boards reminding tourists to mind their manners have been placed at various popular destinations around the country. While the English translations are not exact, the messages' philosophical bent, with regard for the environment is plain for all to see. Photos by Marie-Claire Holmes
