US President Abraham Lincoln once told the story of a traveler lost in a thunderstorm. The rider floundered through the mud until his horse tired. The traveler stood alone in the middle of the road, while lightning flashed and thunder roared around him. One thunder clap seemed to shake the earth under his feet, prompting the traveler's plea, "0h Lord, if it is all the same to you, give us a little more light and a little less noise." If only politicians today would heed that advice!
