Second update, July 13 - Curiouser and curiouser. A potential witness in the NatWest 3 trial has been found dead, apparently a suicide. The senior bank executive in Britain recently had been questioned by the FBI. Read the sad story here.
Update July 13, 8:43 a.m. GMT - The NatWest 3 have been handed over to US marshals at Gatwick Airport. Their flight to Houston is expected within the hour. On Wednesday British MPS protested the extradition, adjourning a House of Commons session after a three-hour emergency debate.
Cahal Milmo has an excellent article in London's The Independent about the harsh treatment the NatWest 3 can expect in the United States. On Thursday, the bankers will board a plane in London. US Marshals will accompany them on the long flight to Houston, Texas.
For more background about this strange Enron-related case that defies all legal standards, see my previous pieces here and here.

Amazingly we have heard very little about these men we are just flooded with images of the horrible men who perpetrated such horrible crimes against innocent people.

this is disturbing to read about. as you can imagine, it's getting no press in the midwest USA. I'll be aware now and watch to see if any of the national news outlets bother with it.
