Annie tagged me for this meme. The "rules" are to open the book nearest you to page 123, go to the fifth sentence and post the text of the next three sentences. I have only four books in English with me; this was the first I grabbed: Andalus: Unlocking the Secrets of Moorish Spain by Jason Webster.
"I decided to move things back to more personal matters, asking him how his family had reacted when he converted."It hadn't been easy; his mother was unhappy about his conversion. She felt he'd let down his father, who had died when Muhammad was only a teenager. None of his protestations about Spain's Muslim heritage washed with her and now he only saw her a couple of times a year in their home town of Ciceres."
In Andalus, the author attempts to discover Spain's hidden Moorish legacy and recounts some adventures along the way. The book also explores the Arab ancestry of modern Spain from the viewpoint of a Moroccan living in Andalucia.

this is cool...I'll have to give it a try, myself.

love the meme
here's my contribution from the book nearest me The Fruitful Darkness by Joan Halifax:
In the future, according to some,it is not us who will save the creatures but the creatures who will save us. Yes, creation is moving toward us. We back away but it keeps pushing towards us.

I imagined myself in Sevilla today. It felt exciting! I sent out a fervent prayer for lots of sales and $$ so I could get a plane ticket and not worry about paying work that I would have to lose. You never know.
Have you left yet? Or are you still in Paris?
xoxo

This is very sad Tara. So many families break down because of conversions away from the cradle faith. Corey wrote today of arrows of love. With such a weapon, we would never have to cry again.
