Hurricane Run made a strong showing Sunday at an Arc trial at Hippodrome de Longchamp in Paris. The champion racehorse is expected to repeat his 2005 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe victory at the Arc on Sunday, Oct. 1.
Hurricane Run is paraded around the ring prior to the Prix Foy Gray D'Albion Barriere Sunday afternoon at Longchamp. The Arc trial was run at a slow pace, with Shirocco edging Hurricane Run by a neck to win. But trainer Andre Fabre told reporters the only victory he's concerned with is victory at the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe on October 1. Hurricane Run won the Arc in 2005.

Fallon is expected to ride Hurricane Run to victory in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe on October 1 at Longchamp. Along with Ascot in England, the Arc is considered one of Europe's most prestigious flat races.

Now look at who's the photographer ;-)
So glad you documented your Bday present with such enviable shots...the horses are gorgeous, but then again, i spy some lookers in the crowd as well!

Hurricane Run looks stunning ... they often take on another 'persona' pre-race, don't they. Just lovely :)

Beautiful horse, Hurricane. I love horse racing. I grew up near Ben White Raceway in Orlando, FL where they race trotters. So graceful.

horses are beautiful animals. it's interesting to see them intermingling with humans instead of in a field-- like the ones at the end of my street.
thanks for sharing these photos.

I look at these beautiful, noble athletes...and in the midst of much sorrow and confusion, I remember that God is good and that beauty still resides on Earth. Thanks for this post...I also loved your poetry for 9/11. I couldn't agree more with the stanza about how Bush has squandered the good and exchanged it for evil..Like with like.
Have a good day, Tara.
