"Llanto sobre Cristo muerto," Pedro Millan, 1490, Museo de Bellas Artes, Sevilla
For the One Deep Breath prompt "mystery," haiku linked together as one poem:
They wept when He died
this great man of mystery
who offered such hope
No explanation
for His miracles performed
faith is the answer
The best example:
rising from the dead to give
reason to believe
His suffering so
that others might live; now more
miracles needed*
*This madness of war:
dark time for humanity
as we pray for peace

Oh Tara, how beautiful and moving. Do you mind if I print it off and put it in between the pages of my Bible?

I really enjoy your technique of linking a series of haiku together to form a poem.
Your words ring so true: Faith is the answer.

So many hopes dashed by the crucifixion - yes the answer is faith, faith that we can and will make a difference, and praying for peace is the begiining and the way. I loved this, and I too needed to read this one.

This was very moving. Miracles are indeed needed. And each one of us much do whatever little we can to bring love and peace and banish hatred and violence.
