Plant-filled patios are common along the Callejon del Agua, an alley running alongside the walls of Seville´s Alcazar Palace. The American diplomat Washington Irving once stayed in this particular casa. Irving wrote Tales of the Alhambra in 1832, about his time in Granada. I shot this photo Tuesday evening when the gardener had the gate open. He said it was fine to take a photo. But the owner of the casa walked into the patio and frowned when she saw me.

Oh! That's what it's supposed to look like! At first glance, I thought someone had set all their potted plants out to do some watering. :) Lovely though.

I hope you frowned right back at her!

Nice that you met up with the inviting gardener first!

What a wonderful way to have flowers in the city - just place the pots everywhere on your patio and create the perfect garden array. Too bad the owner couldn't feel free to share it's beauty a little more joyfully :)

you're welcome to photograph my garden any time - no frowns! - but you won't get such a beautiful result as this terrace :-(

The garden terrace photo is beautiful. My sister visited Seville several years ago and ever since I saw her photos, I have wanted to go there.
