A 14th-century treasure chest at the Museo de Bellas Artes, Seville, Spain
You know that wonderful feeling when you meet a kindred spirit and feel an immediate connection? One of my first joys upon returning to Paris from Seville was meeting the talented artist and fascinating woman Laura of Laurelines. Laura and I had been admiring each other's weblogs and exchanging e-mails the past few months, but had never met in person.
On Friday, Laura and her delightful husband David came to our apartment for dinner. And my husband David and I were thrilled to share a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere with our new friends. Laura and David complement each other beautifully, each blessed with their own version of warmth, charm, humour and clever intellect. We felt as though we'd known them for ages and enjoyed a terrific evening together. And we look forward to more happy occasions in their treasured company.

How wonderful to meet someone inspiring in such a way. The internet allows so many connections that in another life would have been impossible. I love the pic with this entry as well. Truly gorgeous!! Cheers :)

Hi Tara,
I've often wondered if I'd ever meet in person any of my weblog friends. Life is so full of wonderful moments. I'm so glad that one of those moments was a real life friendship visit...hugs

Dear Tara,
We just got back an hour ago and I am running a hot bath, but wanted to join you in the expression of delight at our new (but seeming so old) friendship. You're a dear, dear woman, no doubt about it and YOUR David is a treasure, too, like mine :D. Thank you for such warm hospitality, for such a magical evening. I KNEW we'd have great fun and we did!

Since "who we are" often shows up in our blogs, it is, perhaps, not a huge surprise that when we meet we enjoy one another's company very much! Your last few posts have be so interesting with wonderful photos.

What fun for all of you! Finding such compatible friends is like striking treasure for the soul, and as Patry noted, even better when the respective spouses connect as well.
(I love the treasure chest - I want to open all the little drawers)

These kind of connections are amazing--especially so when it works for the spouses as well.
