When walking near Notre Dame this morning, I saw this romantic white organza gown pinned to an easel in a gallery window.
Glancing at the One Deep Breath prompt "the unseen," the first reference that came to mind was Antoine de Saint Exupery's classic children's book Le Petit Prince. In it, the hero - "the little prince" - describes his love for a particular rose: "It is only with the heart that one can see rightly. What is essential is invisible to the eye."
Inspired by the little prince, a haiku written on the Paris metro:
Love invisible
intangible and unseen,
but its power strong

The dress itself brought the unseen to mind: the woman who isn't there, wearing the dress. The haiku and the photo fit very well!

Both the photo and the haiku are simply lovely!
The Little Prince is one of my very favorites, though I can't read it without tearing up at least a little!

Beautiful dress - beautiful photo with its layers of reflections - and beautiful haiku.
I loved "The Little Prince" - both in French and in English - my French is pretty rusty these days though

I love the contrast between your very strong words to describe love, and the airy delicacy of the dress, which instantly calls to mind a symbol of love - the wedding dress. Very beautiful :)

Oh, I do love this display.
Are the bouquinistes still around Notre-Dame?
Quelle nostalgie!

A great photo, looks like a story!
And, you are right-- to die for love is something we feel, not see. Love your poem.

I SO wish I could have been with you when you were in front of that window--- I would have loved to draw the dress, too! Wasn't today a heartbreakingly beautiful day? We're so excited to have you as our new friends and can't wait until the next time we meet.
Xoxo,

Dear, wonderful Tara ... what an exquisitely beautiful poem. Love, that invisible elixir of life - how lucky are we to indulge in its pleasures. Reading this made me think how much I love humanity. Peace, JP

The haiku is so compelling to me as
when you think of the expression
"love is blind" it is not the one
in love who is blind - it is other
on-lookers who are blind to understanding
what the lover SEES in his desired one.
The picture is fantastic and
so is your breathtaking gust of a haiku:)
