The best thing about any Christmas market is typically the food. In our neighbourhood, this market is an annual tradition. With displays this beautiful, who can resist purchasing a few sausages? Click photos to view detail.
This man was slicing tender ham to accompany grilled tomatoes, onions, salad and fresh baguettes.
Check out the miniature children's sleds holding baguettes (same stall as above).
These cheeses were so delicious - after free samples - we had to take some home!
These cheeses, jams, gateau and flavoured drinks come from Basque country in Southwest France.
Check out these huge slabs of chocolate! Very tempting. The market is open every day until Christmas (note to self: must stay away).
This popular stall does a thriving business with its homemade beignets and pastries.
Ham and nuts from the Auvergne region are on offer at this stall.

those slabs of chocolate look like icebergs!

Open Air Markets the world over seem to all be the same. Take away the signs and you could be in your own backyard. Wonderful sights and, I'll bet, smells.

The Christmas market here in Trondheim will open next week. I almost can't wait.....
My husband is in Copenhagen for a few days. He phoned me last night to tell about the wonderful Christmas market in Tivoli. I think he missed me axtra because he knew how much I would have loved to be there :-)

What a beautiful and sensual place to shop. Nothing at all like our neighborhood Kroger! I think I'd gain so much weight if that was nearby my house.
