Did I mention that my daughter Jordana likes to shop? Actually she's passionate about shopping. These pictures were made AFTER we'd spent more than an hour-and-a-half in one London store with four floors - the first hour with me having no idea where she was! At last I found her, completely oblivious to the time, pulling more clothes off the rack to try. After she'd tried these on, she wanted to try still more garments, naturellement!
While I was waiting, I watched the parade of girls ranging in age from 9 upwards going in and out of the changing rooms. I was surprised to see some young girls aged 9 or 10 overly-preoccupied with fashion - wearing full makeup, nail polish, carefully-styled hair and the latest fashion fads.
After paying for Jordana's purchases, she put her coat back on to brave the elements, then voila! She discovered the vintage department of this particular store, from whence I had to drag her out 40 minutes later. She was looking for a New Year's Eve frock that didn't need alterations, as she's arriving in Savannah just in time for a New Year's celebration.
One of Jordana's friends from university arrived this afternoon and she was describing this particular store, "It's cheap, the clothes are really cool and it's gigantic!" And she said she could have spent hours longer there, if I hadn't "forced" her to go to another store (where of course she also found things she liked and/or needed).

No, I didn't buy the Tara plate! I think it was part of the display and not for sale, although it didn't occur to me to ask. :)

Aw to be young and small again! My SIL found some excellent gowns for my niece (about a size 0!) at a vintage store. Both were about $100 and were 1950s vintage. They were absolutely gorgeous and she looks gorgeous in them, even while wearing bobby socks! How fun!!

Happy Holidays and a New Year, Lady!
I can't wait to find the vintage store this time next year! I want those tights. Does England put things on sale after the seasons over too?

What FUN! 'fess up...so did you BUY the Tara plate?? I sure hope so :-)
Jordana may well be the Master, but I have it on good authority (i.e., me..lol) that she comes by it honestly...and that would mean that she not only has exquisite taste but spends her money wisely!

How fun to be able to spend time with her watching her do something that she enjoys! Thanks for sharing the pics - it was fun to see what kind of shops you were visiting. You are so good to share your pictures with us - I need to remember to keep my camera with me more when I go out! :)

Looks like you had a great time, and made some memories you are unlikely to forget! I envy you having a daughter to shop with...my son only likes buying cars and computer stuff!

I'm a shopper, too - I have a friend with whom I can spend (and have, on many occasions) up to nine hours shopping without even noticing the time go by!!

Reading your entry today reminded me of when my Mom & I go shopping. My Mom seems to think I take forever; she is constantly dragging me out of the stores. lol! Recently, she has vowed not to go shopping with me at all. lol! I think she's only kidding though. :)

That store is right up my alley! I love the glimpse of your daughter and it seems like you're having a fantastic time. I wish I was in Paris, sigh.

I'm not crazy about shopping but whenever I'm out with my daughter, we have so much fun. Like YESTERDAY. Next time I'll take pictures too.

I had to laugh, the shopping situation sounded so familiar (with 2 daughters, it's double the fun - and trouble getting them out of the store; add granddaughters, and you might as well find a comfy chair).
I love the "Tara" starlet plate - how fun!

I hate to shop. It takes all the energy right out of me. Yet I can see from these photos that the store you were in was pretty cool. Maybe I'm just shopping in the wrong places?!!

I typically LOATHE shopping...except in thrift or vintage stores, so I would have been all over that place. :) As for the tweens (is that what they're calling them now?), I think our (at least American) media sells them a bad bill of goods WAY, WAY too young. Makes me sad that they can't just be little kids.

I'd love the vintage store myself. It is so much more fun than shopping for new stuff.

Wow, I'm really not a shopper like that. When I need things I kind of grab and get out. I get a little intimidated in department stores, always have, like the girls who work there are looking down their sly noses at me. Bah! As for the young girls, I have lately been noticing the exact same thing -- mini women, in stylish expensive outfits, with makeup and jewelry, acting very poised and with shopping bags over their little arms filled with more mini-women accessories!! Weird.

The store looks like heaven. 10 is waaaay too young for make up and preoccupation with such.

Why am I not surprised that the woman with a style I covet has a daughter that it comes naturally to? Her choice of fabrics says it all.
I love the Jeepers Peepers wall!!!
And those plates are so cute - they look like some pink ones I'm searching high and low for.
