Yes, definitely out of "Alice." At first glance I thought it was lacquer, but patent leather is much better to sit on!

My youngest daughter had an Alice in Wonderland tea party a year or so ago, it was such fun! I must post some photos on flikr! I am a great fan of Alice as you can see by my quote at the top of my blog posts :)
