My friend Julie owns a wonderful antique shop, Agape Deco. She is a genius at finding quirky and imaginative things to sell in her shop. She also creates fabulous displays and her magasin has been featured in numerous French magazines. Going to her shop is always an adventure, as you never know what unusual items might be offered for sale.
Today I was thrilled by a zinc-topped wooden table with one drawer. Julie will cut the legs down to make it into a coffee table. I also snapped up these little trinkets: small scientific beakers and tiny glass bottles (above); two small glass domes (the one pictured is temporarily filled with glass bottles); wooden architectural fragments and a heavy stone ball.
The challenge now is to incorporate these odds and ends into existing tableaus or displays. Maybe the architectural fragments will join an assortment of crystal and glass decanter tops in an iron urn. Perhaps the stone ball will rest on a garden table on the balcony. Your ideas are welcome!

Tara you constantly inspire me!!!!! Off to create.

When JP and I return to Paris, please promise you'll take us to this shop. I'm very keen to visit.

Tara,
A curious collection of curios, making for eclectic conversation. I know in your imagination you've already found varied scenes for these treasures.
Thanks for stopping by to comment, you are still my number one mentor.

Tara,
Your friends shop sounds wonderful! Where may I find it, I would love to stop in on my next visit to Paris!
The glass dome would make a great home for a small plant and I love using those little glass beakers to pour small individual amounts of a salad dressing or a coulis for a special dessert....just a thought!
