This is what I liked almost the most during my Europe travels - the restoration of the beautiful old buildings, not the razing and resurrection of modern abominations.

So cool when that's done.

I love how you made the connection between an art form and the picture.

Good eye!

Neasa

I love the imagery in "...lift the veil, reveal..."

Beautiful new header too!

Star

I love this type of thing on walls and such. This is a unique use and much more pleaseing to the eye than the construction gear.

Very nice haiku on these tricks.

Novel Nymph

I wish I was brilliant enough to write haiku that really said something like this one does. Well done!

Hundred and one

You never cease to amaze me Tara. Have I said this before....

Nice one!

Alina Popescu

That is indeed a great idea! Much better than huge adds for God knows what products! People going by and not returning too soon would still get to see what it actually looks like.

Jone

Wow, restoration has come aways. When I was in Paris in 1969, everything was in scaffolding. I love how you weave a snippet of parisian life in your haiku.

Brian

I think you haiku can apply to people as well. Love the writing.

Sandy

What a stylish idea. Is this always done while renovating?
And, your haiku has good lines, too!

Jeanne

Blessings to you my lovely friend.
Today I send you love and smiles across the miles.
Embrace your bliss and go in peace and spread love and scatter joy!
My motto!

Crafty Green Poet

I love trompe l'oeil, thanks for sharing.

AscenderRisesAbove

It definately did fool the eye!!

Rethabile

That's a nice one. It does cheat the eye to perfection. The haikus add the music.

Thanks for stopping by my place and leaving a meaningful comment about my poem (frenchie).

Yes, the line was awkward, but the idea of a frenchie had to stay in the poem for the sake of balance, and for the sake of the idea itself, as the poem was about kissing.

I knew that that line was awkward and was indeed working on improving it, which I have now.

By balance I mean: If my grandpa read the poem, I'd want him to look at me and say, What's a frenchie? If my son read it, I'd want him to look at me and say, What's "hath"? I enjoy playing with such mixtures.

Again thanks for stopping by. I hope to see you again soon.

That is so cool they hide the construction behind a lovely facade. I couldn't view it in a larger version though.. darnit!

I love that you love haiku!

That is some trompe l'oeil! Very fitting haiku for this picture!

Amber

I love that they put that up while they fixed things. Classy! I wish they had done that when we saw Notre Dame! Half of her was hidden in tarp. :(

Rosa

Only in Paris! Happy New Year, my friend! Cheers.

Tara,
