Signs of spring: daffodils in a favourite 1970s opalescent juice pitcher.
Many things for which to be grateful this Friday. I had email from Heidi, one of my best friends from New York days. We'd lost touch through our many moves. Thanks to the Internet, she found me through my blog!
Heidi has a fairly common last name and I'd tried to locate her, to no avail. I'm so pleased we've reconnected! Heidi is one of my favourite people; we've shared many an adventure.
The divine Caty sent me a wonderful message in Spanish and I could read it without getting out my Spanish dictionary! I also had email from a man in Los Angeles who purchased a rare Arts and Crafts piano at Liberty of London, in part due to my photograph of the piano.
For lunch I had a delicious chevre et noix baguette from Le Grenier a Pain, an award-winning local boulangerie.
I received invitations to my favourite brocante at Chatou, just outside Paris.
I found this mignon little wooden box "To me," at my friend Julie's antique shop Agape. It's painted black, although the inside is a bright Holli pink.
And at last the missing Amazon.co.uk order arrived with Patry Francis's book! Holding it in my hands, I felt almost as excited as Patry must have when she saw the first copy. After getting to know the charming and talented Patry in the last year through her blog Simply Wait and the Third Day Book Club, I am thrilled to receive her book. Yes, this is what I'll be doing late into the night this weekend - reading "The Liar's Diary." Hope you have an enjoyable weekend planned!

Oooh, you've got Patry's book...I can't WAIT to meet her when she's here in a couple of weeks. :)

How exciting that your friend found you! She must have got your telepathic message! Did you view “The Secret" yet?
I think I have figured out how to make that sandwich and it will be on the menu for my next luncheon!
Very sweet post!
Love to you Sherrie

What a lovely story to have found your friend Heidi again. The wonders of Blogger!
Your daffodil display is so beautiful.....it reminds me of a daffodil ball that I carried from a white ribbon loop, as a bridesmaid, when I was 3 years old.

It's often the small things that brighten a day. I love daffodils too. It's just about time to plant the bulbs, here.

Faith wanted to click on the picture of the box. She exclaimed (now I don't know where or why)
"Good!! I knew you could do your best!!!! Dear house, I like you. God made you!" (she's big on God making everything right now.
Faith: it says "to me from you!" A pretty good guess I would say!
Since I clicked on the pics for her, I earned her half-eaten lollipop. yay!!
I've had long lost friends find me through my blog too - it's a lovely thing, isn't it?
I love your pictures, your finds - I wish I had wonderful places to browse!

What an incredibly delicious looking baguette (it would have been a perfect yummy for last Sunday). And the box, oh it's divine. I have a thing for little boxes for keeping treasures in, and this one seems to be especially wonderful with its surprising pink interior. Your friend's shop sounds like a goldmine.

You sound so happy! And i can see why--you've had a lovely day. Very well deserved, bien sur. My weekend will be busy, full of getting things ready for my week in Charleston. Too bad I'm not going to Savannah---I could take Jordana out to dinner!

I had a look at the piano! BEAUTIFUL! I have a collard & collard with an interesting history:- It was purchased new in 1945 by a Naval captain for his bride. She was a concert pianist here in Aus.
Whilst the piano was not the "best" for performance, it was her favorite and only played on special occasions.
I am its second owner. It is tuned to concert pitch, never drops out. It is beautiful. thanks for this blog!
