A bouquet of herbs in la cuisine
The One Deep Breath prompt is to write a "spicy fib," a poem using the Fibonacci mathematical sequence of syllables: 1, 1, 2, 3, 5 and 8.
French
chef
concocts
wondrous meals
in our small kitchen
my job is cleaning up the mess
Actually the chef (my husband) is British, but he's in France cooking with French ingredients, often using French recipes. And his creations are delicious. Of course, creativity is often messy; hence my job as chief bottle washer. I mean that literally, as using the dishwasher blows a fuse. A dishwasher repairman and two electricians have been perplexed by this riddle, which remains unsolved. These days the dishwasher is used for storing parts for the food processor.

Hmmm, I'm doing something wrong. I cook *and* do the dishes!
But I like your fib!

that struck a chord with me -- My husband is the chef and I the dishwasher. When I cook, he does the dishes.
Very nice.

Heehee! If you could see me, you'd see a smile across my face. I admit the dishwasher is one of my favorite kitchen gadgets.

I enjoyed this fib, it made me smile! I usually cook and my partner washes up, we can't fit a dishwasher in our kitchen.

I love the fib - and I would certainly do the dishwashing if I had a French chef at my disposal :)

Hi Tara,
Very clever fib and explanation. Mine will be posted tomorrow.

Kiss the cook often and season everything with love.
Fabulous food for thought.
Love Jeanne

roles are reversed in our family... I agree with Corey... I would gladly wash dishes for a great meal !

I like the fib.
I don't have a dishwasher. My building isn't "wired up" for them, although the building next door is.
(sub-text: I wash dishes ;)

Never heard of a fibonacci before, but it's got a nice rhythm, and it's very fragrant. Sometimes small kitchens are the best, things smell so much better.

I could get use to doing dishes for a great meal!

You lucky girl! Well, not so lucky to be cleaning, but lucky to be fed beautiful meals by your man!
Great fib.

I am giggling about the dishwasher, I used to live in an appartment with the same kind of electrical problems.

Isn't it wonderful to have a great cook in the house? I can almost smell that basil from here. Love the poem, Tara.
*I confess I had to sneak over here - I knew you'd already have yours done & I couldn't figure out if the haiku Goddesses meant we were to write about literal spices, or if I should whip out a racy haiku!*
**Off to contemplate my spice jars**

do you grow your own herbs?
I like this 'spicy fib' :)
