A wooden box containing French alphabet wooden blocks, probably from the 1950s.
Find of the day: a 19th-century Madonna gilt crown with rhinestone "sapphires" and "diamonds" to add to my collection.
A heavy piece of pottery for storing liquids.

You've such an eye for "pretties"! I especially like the colorful blocks (no surprise there). You photographed these so well, Tara!
(Hope all is well with you)xo
when i'm next in paris (and my husband is trying to make that happen sooner than later), i hope you'll let me trouble you to give a list of places to visit so i might have a few french treasures of my own.
The tiara is beautiful. I always wanted to start a collection of these, but have not found any that I like that I can also afford!!! Maybe next time I am in Paris...who knows, maybe I'll buy one and wear it on the plane ride back and get bumped to first class!! lol!
I think every woman should have a collection of crowns and tiara's! You could wear a different one for various occasions or depending on your mood. A mood crown - like a mood ring! I don't think mood rings were big enough for men to take notice - maybe they'd notice a mood crown. This one looks very much to me like it says "wine me, dine me - take me out dancing."
;-)
I am sure the crown was the find of the day. I can picture you now prancing through the apartment waiting for the servants to arrive. You need a scepter too...add to your list. LOL
In all seriousness, the crown is really cool.
I knocked out the requested Home Depot piece as well....just because "the Queen" made the request. A simple task and obligation that any humble court jester would gladly fulfill.

I think I better break Tom in slowly before I ever start talking to him about buying me a tiara.
BUT I LOVE THEM. I still have mine from the wedding - but it's not real. shhhhh. Faith doesn't know that.

The wooden alphabet looks like a real treasure. If the buyer was me I would display it somewhere in our livingroom to enjoy every day :-)

The tiara is simply outstanding. Do you have pictures of your collection posted elsewhere?

I love those crowns - I guess by the time I get to France, you will have bought them all and there will be none left for me to buy :)
Tara responds:
Not to worry, Robyn. I saw at least five crowns that I couldn't afford. :)
