A wooden rocking horse is "sacked out" on an iron camp bed at the 74th Foire Nationale a la Brocante et aux Jambons at Ile de Chatou. Yes, I went to the brocante a third time today to meet a friend! Now I'm off to watch the France-Scotland rugby game in the Six Nations Championship.

This wooden horse was once part of a French carrousel.

A motorcycle duo is part of the carrousel in the city of Chatou, near Paris. It is across the street from an open air fruit-and-vegetable market and a popular weekend-gathering place.

This car is meant to resemble a submarine.

And the ever-popular Woody Woodpecker usually has children clamouring for rides (when I took the photos, the children apparently were home having their naps).

I adore fairs, Tara and this one was so different from many I've seen. All the colors are so vibrant and Woody Woodpecker is the best. My favorite carousel horses look so different here. I've always dreamed of having my own carousel animal and my first choice is the dragon on the carousel in San Diego's Balboa Park. Have you ever been there and seen it?

I adore Carousels and never hesitate to ride them when given the chance! Pepper was ecstatic to see one on the street in Seattle a few months ago! Those old ones bring back childhood memories. They are so beautiful when restored!

Beautiful pictures! I've loved carousels ever since I was a child.

Beautiful carousel horse. The photos of the other carousel ride are so vibrant and fun. I would have definitely been begging for a ride on Woody's back as a child - I remember loving those cartoons - I didn't realize he was an international star!
