The inside of an 18th-century corps de deux armoire or buffet cabinet has been restored in keeping with the original patina. It is available at Marche Paul Bert at Porte de Clignacourt.
If you're interested, email me and I'll send details about the antique dealer, dimensions of the corps de deux, etc. But a word of caution - this lovely piece of furniture is the same price as a car - about 12,000 euros, or $16,318. And that price doesn't include shipping! The dealer would probably lower the price to 11,000 euros.
The top and bottom portions of the corps de deux are pictured.
A mannequin at Marche Vernaison at Marche aux Puces, Porte de Clignacourt is for sale.
This horse-and-bicycle-cart from the turn of the 20th-century is rare, although some restoration is needed. It's available at Marche Vernaison.
Papier-mache coasters from Occupied Japan were a gift from American visitors.
Hawaiian hibiscus blossoms adorn this retro shopping bag and tablecloth found at a shop in Paris.

You're so funny, Tara. Yeah, let's just buy the pretty puppy and ship it right over here. LOL

The deux corps is worth every euro...The interior is stunning.
(Note of advice in buying antiques:Always check the back, and the hardware and the drawers..)
What a beautiful piece it is.
On a different note:
I know of someone in the south who makes pieces like this using different elements he finds in Holland and England. He then recreates the patina. Only a professional would know the difference. Though the price sings music to everyone (but a purist's,) ears.

Oh my inner child is jumping up and down with glee at the sight of that toy horse and cart! What fun that would be...It would probably cost as much as a real horse, though. Thanks for another fun shopping trip, Tara. xo

I really liked the prints in the tropical fashion, but no way am I paying that for a beat up looking piece of furniture. Ah, well, I have no taste for that sort of thing. Sort of Sigh!

I love that mannequin she would be perfect for a project I am working on. Did you notice how much it was?
Tara responds:
Di, I didn't ask the price.

Tara, I regularly read this blog written by Australians living in Morocco and thought of you while reading this post on antiques over there http://riadzany.blogspot.com/2007/04/treasure-trove-of-antiques-in-fez.html#links

I have recently become more fond of the Hawaiian style floral decor, much to my surprise. I also dicovered the lovely quilts Hawaiians make. They have some really beautiful pieces.
The table cloth is pretty. I like that the colours are a bit on the soft side.

that piece of furniture is beautiful, and would look gorgeous at my home. Wonder if the dealer will drop his price to about £100.00?
Nope think not!

That armoire is gorgeous. I would pay as much as a car for it. It's bigger than those tiny cars you posted pics of!!

The armoire is stunning. I can imagine the time it took to restore it! xoxo

The horse-and-bicycle-cart is so cute. I've never seen anything like it. Very neat-o.

The armoire would (and has) last longer than the car.
