French 19th-century lithograph "La Promenade sous le Berceau" depicting children playing games in a Paris park. Today is Bastille Day. After fireworks late last night, celebrations kicked off with a parade on the Champs Elysee - with 26 European countries participating - followed by various fetes, including the Grand Prix de Paris at l'Hippodrome de Longchamp. And more fireworks tonight lighting up the skies over Longchamp. C'est magnifique! Bonne fete les tous! Hope you're enjoying your weekend.

Sweet image, two darlings sharing Paris!

Somehow Bastille Day passed and I didn't realize (at least in Washington, DC this day still doesn't slip by without being remembered, what with the Bastille Day Waiters' Race, with waiters running with trays of Champagne the twelve blocks or so from Les Halles Restaurant up Pennsylvania Ave to the U.S. Capitol *g*).
I wish you a restful Sunday after yesterday's parties! :-)
