A mini version of Mademoiselle Chanel's classic suit for fall at Chanel's atelier on rue Cambon and a giant rope of pearls.
This mannequin at Chanel sits on giant pearlized camellias, Mademoiselle Chanel's favourite flower and an enduring symbol of her style and influence.
Large black patent-leather camellias surround the mannequin in this vitrine. She's wearing a sporty version of the Chanel suit, featuring a short pleated skirt and chunky boots.
Baskets of bright pink flowers hang from wrought-iron balconies on rue Cambon.
One of the hundreds of racks of bicycles available for rent throughout Paris. This velo rack is opposite Dolce & Gabbana, near rue Rivoli.

Those pics are fantastic!! Love the reflections...

Did I say already that I LOVE LOVE LOVE these windows?
I ran out and shot the Chanel windows in New York after seeing yours and Merisi's pictures!
Malheureusement I got there later than originally planned and got mostly reflections :(
Please take a look and giggle at what you started.

Meant to add: those boots are HOT!
Plus Lee Hazelwood who wrote "These Boots are Meant for Walking" for Nancy Sinatra recently died. :( I love that song.

Tara,
Your magic in photographing reflections is phenomenonal!
These are beautiful as well. Fashion interests and fascinates me even though I'm an artsy noncomformist who wears what I want to wear.

Paris...hot, hot, hot. This captures it all for me. I love the 'through the looking glass' resonance of these shots which seem to shimmer through the heat waves. Right up to the mark re fashions in a completely 'in your face way'...I like.
Well done.

Stunning Tara.........makes me feel the need to get out of my well worn summer duds and put on something snazzy! Problem is, where would I take my snazzy self at midnight in small city Canada? Perhaps I will dream tonight of a wonderful gala and an entrance by moi wearing a chi chi gown...... :)

Please don't start doing fashion, Tara. I don't know why but I have gotten all sucked into fashion mode all of a sudden. I think Paris fashion pictures could send me over the edge.

Ooh I love the camellias best of all! So quintessentially Chanel! Tara who is the mystery man- I keep looking to see if you've told us yet!!! Please.....
Posted by: Sophiehoneysuckle | 08 August 2007 at 15:51
I love the Chanel windows...makes me wish I were more "couture". I love the way you show us Paris, Tara. Your pictures are so imaginative! I love that Europeans still use bikes, here in Canada now there is a big movement to "green" power, and using your own two feet to get around. Global warming and all has caused us to rethink things.

Fun photos, Tara - it appears galoshes and spats are in this year. I always enjoy seeing the new fashions, even though most of the time, I'll still be wearing my sneakers and jeans :)
