What a delightful confection of 'les chapeaux'! xx, JP/deb

Tara my friend, what a lucky girl you are. Even the funny hats have some style and taste. Both of these words are unknown to most if not all Americans......
Love you blog.........

wendy

designdna

What fun photos, Tara. Even the Mad Hatter couldn't have designed anything wilder than some of these chapeaus. It's a wonder anyone sees the horses for the forest of hats.
Or perhaps everyone's really there to see the hats, not the horses :-)
I hope we will we get to see your hat as well~xox

M erisi's Vienna

Lovely! I had to look at all those hats again. :-)
They were lucky to have such gorgeous weather (interesting, how the various ladies dressed, to their own weather, so to speak). I must confess, I'd love to go in basic black, the only outfit shown which wouldn't make me feel like at a costum ball. I am kind of sissy in that regard. ;-)

RD

I can't believe the range of hat decor here! Demure, chic, outrageous, ostentatious, gaudy. Wow! It takes a tremendous amount of self-confidence to carry off a hat like this. Those French women--I tell you! Did we see your hat?

Jeanne

Hats off to you my lovely friend.
Love Jeanne

Linda

Wow, these photos make me want to buy a hat, other than the baseball cap I have.

Carla

Fabulous!!! I love hats! Sometimes they look downright silly, but aren't they wonderful? Hats and shoes...and I'm happy.

Lisa M.S. Oceandreamer

I love them.....I love seeing the outfits too. It's the ultimate people watching right from home. I am so happy you are sharing these photos. Really makes me want a hat.
XOXO

I WANT MORE HATS!!!

Thanks for placing the big orange one at the top. It's my favorite!

My heart is beating faster.

What beautiful shots.

rochambeau

Oh dear. More Hats. Gotta calm down. Such fun! It's just pure madness! And I happen to love it!

laura

What a visual feast! It looks so hot, though! My favorite is the little girl. What were YOU wearing?
Xoxo,

Oh What a bunch of eye candy and popping must have been happening. This looks like a fun event to see and experience! Makes me long for the old days and hat wearing again. (What am I thinking?) I'll shake my head, ah better now!

A Fanciful Twist

Totally Fantastic!!!!! Oh my, and every hat wearer is such a character... Now to think they all speak with these fab voices and sounds... And the hats.. Oh my, I totally should have been there!!! xoxoxo

robolady

Love the hats, and your blog. Will be back often, Paris seems like such a wonderful place to live. So much culture.

marja

There are like living art objects. Of course the little girl wins for me.

Vida

Has Jordana seen the shoes on Basic Black? I think she might like them, I liked them a lot!! I get to see the world from my armchair through your beautiful eyes, thank you Tara!! Vida x

Di Overton

Love that basic black outfit. You should get a job at Vogue - fabulous pics.
By the way do I see good weather there now that I am back home?

I love the Sunshine one.....and of course the little girl :-)

Colette

I waited until I came to the office today (high-speed internet!) to see your amazing photos. It must have been such a colorful sight! Personally I love the fillette in her espadrilles, and of course the very charming Monsieur Sharif! He is aging so very very well!

marita

less is more.... love the little girl ;))

Cre8Tiva

fleur

It's interesting that nobody seemed to mind having their picture taken.

Gillian @ Indigo Blue

Tara,
I have to know...did you put one on? You strike me as the type with a few hats in her closet.
xo

Tara responds:
Gillian, you are right! I have lots of hats and adore them. The hat I wore had black grosgrain ribbon and was similar to the girl in navy in the "simplicity" photo - definitely not up to the standards of most of these wildly imaginative hats ladies were wearing. I shall do better next year! :)

Gillian @ Indigo Blue

Tara,
You are making me wish I lived closer so I could attend this and wear a hat. I don't even own a hat. Not a real hat like that. I have a ball cap, a pink one I bought in Atlantis resort. That was purchased out of necessity, the sun was blazing. But to own one of THESE hats, well, that is every girls dream. Forget the white wedding. Give me hats!

What a wonderful collection of photos! HOw lucky you were to be there. I went once to Opening Day and wore a pink flouncy hat that used to be Lucille Ball's (a friend loaned it to me) and it was such a hoot to be part of the hat fun at the races.

Sophiehoneysuckle

I love the photo of the three friends Tara!!

cherie

Tara these are gorgeous photographs and I'm loving all the hats. But my favourite is of the little girl...her hat is adorable and I love the outfit she is wearing. I have only boys and would have loved a little girl..the fun of outfits and dressing up and all the goodies I missed (perhaps way down the road I will have granddaughters!).

Leau

I love each and every one and I am not even a hat girl! You really have the touch when it comes to candid shots. smooches, leau

artzyjudie

Wooeeeee! I am lovin' all those gorgeous hats. I especially like the one near the top of the post that is white and lavender. It looks like a bird in flight! Gosh, I notice there are NO fat people in France.
