From our Thanksgiving table in Paris, Moroccan lanterns, an Arabic coffee pot and empty bowls to signify those who go hungry every day. French friends joined us for a late lunch. The resident chef (that would be David) cooked a turkey, along with roast potatoes, Nigella Lawson's cranberry-and-orange stuffing and various accompaniments. I made RJ's Sho Nuff Famous Sweet Potato Pie - and yes, it was a hit, even with the French. Hope that you enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving celebration with family and friends!

Sounds YUMMY. (I am interested in this Sweet Potat pie, you speak of...)
I love that Table cloth.

What a lovely tradition that is - setting the empty bowls on the table in remembrance of those who do without.
Your Thanksgiving abroad, sounds lovely. I love sweet potato pie (we had a couple of those, too). One of my favorites. Not much can top that at the dessert table, in my book - no wonder it was a hit, even in the land of haute cuisine. Glad you had such a good feast!~xOx

What a great idea, setting the table with empty bowls to remember those who have no food.... I will try to remember to do this next year!
Glad your day was good. So was ours!

A beautiful table and the meal sounds lovely. I've never had sweet potato pie - guess I'm not as Southern as I thought!!
It sounds wonderful, however :)

Wonderful idea to put the empty bowl on the table. I wish I had read this earlier...it would've been a good lesson for the grandchildren. I will remember to do that periodically. I love sweet potato pie too. xx

Happy thanksgiving Tara Just hop in from work. It is quiet here because it is 30 degrees outside. What a beautiful table. I love all these eastern items. I dropped into Marocca once from Spain for a day trip. hope everything is fine overthere.

Happy Thanksgiving Tara! I hope you enjoyed your delicious dinner. The two empty bowls really get me. My god we have so much. I guess being thankful is a lot like cultivating gratitude...we need to be mindful of those who don't eat everyday.

Forget the turkey...I would have gobbled up the sweet potato pie. And the Arab coffee pot...I used to have a similar one but it somehow got lost in all the moving around I've done :(
Happy Thanksgiving, and xoxoxoxo
