Typeface letters spelling "Merci" are a gift from my friend Gabrielle. She sometimes reminds me I must tell my stories. "If you don't tell them, they will be lost forever," she says.
Thank you for all your wonderful, supportive comments Monday on the happy occasion of writing one thousand blog posts. As always, your encouraging words are much appreciated. I am so lucky to be part of this amazing international blogging community!
Today I had a rather unpleasant session in the periodontist's chair, so am not feeling up to much writing. While waiting for the doctor, I discovered photographs of my friend Julie's (Agape) beautifully-decorated apartment in the October-November issue of the magazine Maison Francaise.
I came home to find invitations for the Antiquites Brocante which begins Thursday at Place de la Bastille, Paris. (Guess where I'll be spending the day?) Even better, Gemma sent me a lovely card and some gorgeous pages from a 19th-century scrapbook found in her attic. Thank you, Gemma! You are so thoughtful and the pages are fabulous!
Speaking of fabulous, no doubt you're familiar with my friend Maryam's delightful blog My Marrakesh. She's a finalist in the Best Middle East and Africa blog category in the 2007 Annual Weblog Awards. If like me, you're a fan, you can vote for My Marrakesh here. Strangely enough, in this contest, you can vote once a day through Thursday, Nov. 8. Bonne chance, Maryam!

Feel better soon! Treat yourself to some some extra rest and relaxation!

Oh get well soon with the tooth thingie Tara! Yikes. I think it must be neat to read a magazine and come across a friends home being featured...!
Gemma is just that-a gem. May the gods smile on me to allow me the trip to Sedona this spring to meet her, and a bunch of other blogging gals. She is a thoughtful, sweet, intelligent blogger!
My Marrakesh is a feast-I voted and will daily until the 8th. I hope she finishes at least second. First looks like it is secure, lest a miracle comes her way. But in my opinion, her blog is number one in her category hands down.
Now to nominate your blog in 2008....I'm working on it journalist-girl!
xoxo

Ask Gabrielle if she would like to be my friend also.
By the way Tara - I have finally reproduced those glorious documents you gave me (the one with the powder blue, delicate paper seal etc) and a little surprise will be winging its way to you very soon and wait until you see what has become of those frames.
