Displays of luxurious gift items in Liberty of London's holiday windows.
A collection of chartreuse vases and purple glasses on a Chinese-inspired table at Liberty.
A teal velvet chaise and mid-century-inspired pillows.
Vases, baskets, bowls and an ornate oriental table. The antique mirror at left has the top half covered with stiffened vintage fabric.
Pink bedding at Liberty, London. Alas, I had only about 20 minutes in Liberty, en route to a doctor's appointment. So I never made it to the fourth floor, where my favourite Arts & Crafts furniture is on display.

Once again, some lovely photos. I have to admire your knack for capturing everything in your sight whilst still making it look effortless. How I wish that bed and the linen was in my bedroom. Then again, I'd probably never get up lol. I live in England but hardly ever have the chance to get out and explore. I feel a trip to London's Liberty is just around the corner.

You're killing me kid! Liberty!! Who ever has enough time in Liberty? Be careful, I got scolded at Liberty for taking pics. I still snuck a few in without the flash! Hope your doctor's appointment was another clean bill of health. Thinking of you. xo

What a treat to discover your site! I really love your photographs. How I miss Paris. I'm saving Paris Parfait in my favorites. Lovely!

Dear Tara,
Once I think I went to Liberty many years ago, and remember it being completely different. Is this the evolution? Or was the store sold? OR has the brand simply morphed over the years?
The store looks cool and retro. Right?

Wow! Every time I come here I am amazed at the glittery beauty you capture with your camera, from perfume to bears. It's all gorgeous eye candy.

All so lovely!! I would like to lock myself in the display windows overnight and spend the whole night studying and tinkering around with everything....than a little nap on that bed would be in order ;)

Oh boy what a lot of lovely stuff!!!
Went Christmas shopping last week and did not see anything that took my fancy - I DO HERE!

Oh you are now in London. Like that city too but I like Paris better. They have some fabulous displays there as well though.
You must be strong not to go on a shopping spree each time. Must have a look in Christchurch if I can find any good ones With Christmas there certainly must be something.

Oh how very inspirational!!! Yummy windows!
My favourite two are the last two. But they are all spectacular.
What new and exciting ways will they think of next for displays? I will be in the big city on Sunday and Monday, I will take snaps of the shop windows there for you!
I want that bed. I want it. Even the pink pillows!

Thank you, Tara, for spending part of your precious 20 minutes to bring us back these photos, hope all went well at the Dr's. I'm so sorry you didn't make it up there in time to see your beloved 4th floor - but that means there's a reason to go back and visit again. Next time I hope you can start up there!~xOxOxO

Ahhhh, what visuals! The mannequins are just so theatrical, so emotional in Europe...maybe they are like that in the big cities here too....I just never see them!
the gold roses...the tin...the COLOR!
Love it all!

What a great store. The oriental furniture displays you've photographed reminded me of my grandmother's house. That gilded mirror with the vintage fabric -- it's an interpretation of the Chinese matrimonial mirror. The mirror is usually curtained with fabric and presented to the married couple as a gift. The couple cannot "draw the curtain" on the mirror until they bear a child. Thanks for taking me down memory lane with photos of the store...

I don't know how I missed Liberty when I have been in London, unless it is a newer store (haven't been there since 1990). I could spend all day in that store by the looks of the windows.
Tara responds:
Liberty has been a London institution, almost since its opening in 1875. But I visited London for years without seeing Liberty. It was only when I moved to London in 2000 that I finally went inside - and fell in love! It's my favourite store in London.

about seven years ago, I was in London with my daughter for 3 or 4 days and I bought perfume in Liberty's -- by Index which I haven't seen much in Canada. Perfume's long gone, but I hang onto the box and remember the great room I bought it in -- the scarves, those fabulous Liberty prints. Thanks for refreshing that memory and for triggering my urge to buy a plane ticket!!
