Photo of Islamic-patterned fretwork at Mosquee de Paris by Jordana Shalhoub.
Leau Phillips has written a beautiful, poetic essay about how light always finds its way through darkness. I urge you to read it here. Also check out her beautiful photo of a Madonna statue surrounded by hundreds of luminarias.
Speaking of light, our friend Patry Francis can use all the love and light we can send her way. Please keep Patry in your thoughts and prayers.

I love this!
May love's light shine on us all and the good health angel be with us always.
I love you
Happiness today and always.
Love Jeanne

Loved the light in Leau's lovely post, and I'm glad you're shining a light on Patry - I'm continuing to send as much loving light and prayers her way as I possibly can. May all be well with her. Hope you're feeling better now yourself. Bless you, Tara, you are always so thoughtful~XOXO

Seeing the light...something is very wrong with this world and this is a very sad day.
Sending love and prayers for Patry.

I think most of us are drawn to light, as we are to water, since it's an elemental feature of our very being. Leau Phillips essay reflected those feelings so well -thank you for sharing the link :)
And yes, Patry is in my thoughts and prayers~her post today was awesome.

Beautiful image. I'm so glad that more light shines into the world every day now that the shortest day of the year has passed.

Thank you for sharing Jordana photo and the links.
So sad that a woman like Benazir Bhutto who was trying to shine the light has left the world.

I am not sure (too lazy to look it up:)
but I think Leonard Cohen said
"there is a crack in everything ~ that is how the
light gets in" :) not quite as luminous
as your friend's post of course (which was
soooo lovely)
but I agree ~ it does seem to
work out this way ~ the light always gets
in...
It is morning here and I am sipping coffee!!!
and so happy to visit your lovely blog after
the holidays,
hugs!
