Hi Tara! Just catching up around here. I love the old shoes with silk! Have you mounted that window yet?

Tammy

I think of the beautiful dances these shoes danced in. Very cool!

Dear Tara, Happy New Year! I just returned from China with our beautiful new son Cael. I am here drinking coffee and enjoying your beautiful blog. I could stay here all day but with two children, I am lucky to sit for a moment and see this beautiful post. Your blog, as always so inspiring. Today I am transported back in time. Hand me my shoes woman!

Britt-Arnhild

Did you buy anything? Any shoes?

Colette

I would happily wear the ones at the top. Just gorgeous! We've largely lost the art of shoemaking, I think. xoxo

Jeanie

I'd give anything to wear ANY of those shoes (heel spurs and orthotics don't do well in most of those!)

Lovely images!

Dear Tara,
Came back because I was wondering about the shoes you told me about and realized I missed them earlier today. Such beauty these slipper hold. What stories they could tell about the woman who wore them! My fav's are the top two pairs. Are those black circles hats?
Hope you and your friend are out finding treasure.
Thank you for mentioning my shoe post!

Have fun at the brocante Tara. Even though I can't be there....you know I'll be there in spirit!!! Maybe I'll get a *virtual visit* courtesy of your pics!!!!!

judy wilkenfeld

Ahhhh stunning!

Redness

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh(a whining whingey sound)! Initally I contemplated tagging you, now after you've tantalised me with the brocante - your punishment has been served! Please visit my blog for the rules if you can tear yourself away from the b-b-b-bbrocante ... Red/now green!

Karen DeGroot Carter

Oh my, those shoes tell stories, don't they? K.

marja

I love the shoe's Especially the one in the first picture. Beautiful pictures

dianamuse

Love the juxtaposition of 1790 and 1970 style!

Amber

OOOooooh! So cool! I can imagine the women who owned them... But how strange some of the shapes are! They don't look too cozy.

:)

nita

Lovely photos! Just wonderful. xoxo Nita

stephanie

Oh, yes, loving the shoe love here and at Constance's!

marita

the first pair of shoes with the ribbons remind me of the one's of josephine de beauharnais still present in malmaison!
just lovely!

studio wellspring

oh wow ~ now this is something i'd love to see. and wouldn't it be so fun to be able to try them on??? i know it's naughty but i'd just love to know what these gorgeous relics would feel like on my feet.

Passementerie

I will resolutely ignore your recommendation of the brocante and steadfastly avert my eyes from all such temptation. Gorgeous pictures, though!

Sherry

Aren't these shoes amazing?!? Fits right in with Contance's piece!!! Did you two work this out between you?!? :)

Pam Aries

It is amazing that all those shoes have survived so many years! I think ladies had tiny teeny feet then!

Carla

LOVE the shoes. Wish I were there in person to take it all in.

I am in England and that Brocante is in Paris :(
Fabulous shoes which are in England so that's something :)
