Today I have been a busy woman, writing up a storm; chasing away gloom; dispelling doubt and planting magical seeds of possibility. I've also been listening to this song, an old favourite.
Photos of vintage poupees from the recent brocante at Chatou.
Religious icon.
Elfin dolls.
Southern belle.
Two quirky dolls in a wicker wine crate.
Dutch treats in wooden clogs.
Two real live dolls, although one doesn't seem very happy.

I am trying to play catch-up again - I'm sorry I haven't been around bloglandia much at all this month - and now unfortunately, I can only get your photos to load part way through - it's been several minutes, and only the top part of 'Dutch Treats in wooden clogs' is visible - though I did get to see the lovely dolls - my favorite are the elves. I'm glad I got to at least see them!
Oh - I did read the content of your posts below though - forgive me for saving my hands, and doubling up comments here - I did want to tell you, I received one of those distressing anti-Obama e-mails as well...it's sad to think that there are people who are buying into that propaganda :(

Lovely dolls! Some have such a forlorn feeling, like they are just awaiting a new home. The southern belle seemed like a faded remnant of the past, did she not? Fun photos!
* See my mini dolls and more!
Searching For A Starry Night, a Dachshund, a missing Van Gogh, the search is on! Coming in May '08.

Sorry you have been feeling gloom. It's good that you took action to get out and about and share with us.
My favorite are the Dutch couple.

Amazing dolls, Tara. I would say your photographs probably make them even more incredible.

Lovely dolls, although the elfin ones scare me ...just a little.
