A tall chest with original numbers revealed by a paint treatment at Julie Isore's Agape, pictured at the recent brocante at Ile de Chatou, France. (Yes, that tall chest came home with me - and there is no room for it anywhere)!
An industrial steel serving cart and hospital sidetables.
Original Tolix stools and blue bobbin chests.
A vignette of bottles and books at Agape.
A zinc industrial barrel turned into a light fixture. Check out the Hermes-orange numbered lockers in the background.
A zinc patterned l'oeil du boeuf from Geraldine Michaelis's Une Chanson Douce.
Oeil du boeuf zinc window casings that once graced a chateau.
An old stove and a hodgepodge of rusty watering cans and other utilitarian items.
Zinc buckets in an iron daybed frame at Chatou. Another brocante at Chatou is scheduled in September.

I love industrial . I decorate a shop called POterie Ravel and I love to put this kind of ANTIQUES ...

I love all the photos you do -- your eye is unbelievably astute and you really know how to "see." Plus, you visit such fun places! The chest is wonderful! (By the way, I couldn't agree more about China and Olympics.)

Oh, what a trove of treasures. What I wouldn't do to be able to tag along on one of your afternoon shopping extravaganzas. Fabulous.

Oh I'd take any one of those pieces. I'm the same, not a space available. Love your chest of drawers. Beautiful!

Tara....these are all wonderful shots. I do love the orange lockers.
I have been so swamped on my end that I havent been able to visit or read your blog lately.....am catching up tonight. I read the article about women in hollywood.....and the only rationale I can think of is that the feminist advancements have now been taken for granted? Not in this household let me tell you! It is discussed often.....and encouraged with both of my kids......politics and current events are a staple for conversations......(as are sports and all things Simpsons) as they were when I was growing up. I want my children to be informed and aware......
it helps when my partner in crime and their Dad is a history grad. :)
I also feel the increase in negativity being flounced around.....even the front cover of Newsweek, which I saw today....the little photo of Obama on an all white background....with the title "When Barry became Barack..." it turned me right off...seemed sensational-ish and goofy. It will continue to worsen. (I loved the article Deb posted on her blog from Mark Morford too)
The level of intolerance your childhood friend displayed in the email to you is appalling. Bigotry and intolerance of others in Canada is evident, but a bit more under cover....passive aggressive-like though more visible since 9-11. I just find it deplorable when I hear it coming from someone who is well educated, so called "worldly" and has all the comforts and opportunities a person can need and then some. it's mean and selfish..... You know, I dont get why anyone feels they are entitled..... we all bleed the same.
enjoy your weekend.......love the spring in Paris. it gives me a good feeling that perhaps it will show up here someday in the future.

Seeing Paris through your eyes is such a delight -- I so wish our travel dates didn't have us crossing the Atlantic at the same time, in opposite directions!

Oh be still my beating heart! Tara those are wonderful! I love the chest you bought, I could not have resisted either! My favorite are the medical tables. I love the industrial look and that would just fit right in.

I think those window casings would look great hanging on a wall showcasing a few black and white photos on the inside...
Someday I will get to Chatou ;)

Having never developed an eye (or even really a taste) for antiques, when I walk through a flea market like this, all I see is junk. But when I look at your photos, voila! I see ART! I guess I'm slowly getting there.
