My daughter Jordana and her much-admired black cashmere coat with hand-cut designs, currently on display - along with a similar white coat - at Saks Fifth Avenue in Phipps Plaza, Atlanta, Ga. Michael Fink, vice president of women's fashion for Saks, selected each garment from more than 100 undergraduate and graduate student designs while serving as a juror for the Savannah College of Art & Design's 2008 Fashion Show on May 17. Andre Leon Talley, Vogue magazine's editor-at-large, pronounced Jordana's coat "gorgeous; just gorgeous."
I once worked in corporate communications for Saks Fifth Avenue in New York. Never did I imagine that one day I'd have a daughter whose designs were exhibited at a Saks store!
Check back later for more photos of Jordana's designs. And remember that job interview with a great company the Monday following her graduation from SCAD? They're flying her back for another interview, so fingers crossed! Your good wishes and positive energy would be much appreciated.

Love the blog, love the clothes. Got SPAMMED when I downloaded your blog, however -- an obnoxious Obama ad with a VERY long song that I couldn't seem to shut off. Of course, when I mute it, then I can't listen to the Cusak ad, etc. I do hope the SPAM doesn't have to do with your blog. I like Obama fine, but like to pick what I listen to, rather than being assaulted. Sorry to complain, but if a spammer has attached himself to your site, thought you'd want to know.

Tara, I'm so glad you're back - I've missed you!! And apparently I've been missing out on a lot - for some reason I didn't think you would be back till the 15th. Must scroll through and catch-up.
Jordana's coat is FABULOUS! How wonderful that it should be chosen to be displayed at Sak's. Keeping my fingers crossed for her in that interview - but I doubt she'll really need extra luck with it, with talent like that!
XOXO

Oh how I covet that coat! Black is my favorite "color" in clothing, which is fortunate since it's the staple color in a musician's wardrobe.
Sending good vibes for the job :)

I am so excited for her that it's almost eclipsing what I just read about John McCain in your previous post. ;-)
You must be over the moon with proud mama-ness! Can we have more pics, please? I need to see the front of the coat, too.
Of course, when you get to SF, you'll need a good coat. It will be summer here. lol.
