Bride and groom posing for photos, July 12, 2008 on the bridge overlooking Notre Dame, Paris.
Joy.
Hand-in-hand. "...the triumph of hope over experience." - Samuel Johnson, 1709-1784.
Meanwhile, on the bridge to Ile Saint-Louis, a crowd is assembled...
...waiting to see this guy balance a bicycle on his nose!
Talk about balance!
After that spectacle, somehow balancing this tiny bicycle doesn't seem quite so impressive. But this 12-year-old steals the show.

I went to Paris in August with a friend. And saw the very same show. :-) Amazing to suddenly see these photos here. My first visit to Paris - and I want to go baaaack.

There is what strikes me as a neat symmetry between marriage and balancing a bicycle on one's nose.

Thanks for the fun! Such joy in the wedding couples faces!
Also, aren't busker's amazing? Just thinking of performing in public makes me shake! Great photos. Makes me feel like I was there with you.
Will be thinking of you Tara. For smooth sailing with no glitches.
That you will have an amazing time with the blogging gals. That it will be wonderful, how could it not? Have fun friend!

There is hope for optimism...

A bike on a nose?? Marriage bliss... Paris is full of all kinds of fun things!!!
Optimism... Good to carry in bundles I believe... Especially when being interrogated by awful Airport security... Oh Miss Tara... That is why I have not traveled in a long time... I don't think I could handle it... Could I?? ;)

I think the quotation was incomplete. The definition of a second marriage: It is the conquest of hope over experience
Hope is a good thing! (But experience shouldn't be short listed either!) LOL

And I believe I've been to the first bridge. I was at a conference dinner in Paris at a restaurant called Le Crayon?
Beautiful pictures!

I love this bridge. It is the bridge where I first heard the magic of an accordion being played on my first solo trip to Paris.
It is special to me.
Thanks for the memory.

Wouldn't it be lovely to be a bride in Paris? And as you say, such hope. Lovely pics.

Oh what a happy bridge. Were I in Paris again, this bridge would be a destimation place in the hopes of seeing and sharing in the joy that can be found there.
