The ever-popular 77th Foire Nationale aux Antiquites a la Brocante et aux Jambons begins Friday, Sept. 26 at Ile de Chatou. The brocante continues daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. through October 5th. Visit Blandine Bavoux's stand offering kitchen collectibles at 10 rue de la Gaite.
From Paris, take the RER train to Chatou Roissy and follow the signs to l'Ile de Chatou. Tickets are available at the gate. But don't plan on getting back to Paris via taxi. Rarely will a driver take you to Paris, unless he is paid to wait while you shop. And you don't want to rush through aisle after aisle of Chatou's diverse treasures! The train is the best option, unless you bring your own car.

Oh boy, French vintage enamelware cannisters just totally float my boat! Lucky me I scored a white set with green accents in Cliqancourt when we went to Paris - I hugged those things in my carry-on luggage all the way home, no trusting them to the check-in voyage :) Your photos are fabulous (all of them, not just the kitchen goods).

I just died and went to heaven. I have had a few of those pieces trickle in to my store. But oh to have that whole wonderful collection.... Sigh.

If I had made this brocante, I would have had to buy another suitcase to bring it all home in! I love the au lait bowls. Sigh.
