- Robo calls? Just hang up. Read the sad, sordid story of the McCain camp's ongoing machinations here. So much for John McCain's self-declared honor. He's certainly changed his tune.
- Sarah Palin is illegally using her Secret Service detail to keep reporters from talking to people attending her rallies - and thus preventing the press from identifying militants inciting the crowds.
- "Joe the Plumber" is actually a McCain friend linked to the Keating Five. Plus he owes back taxes!
- One of McCain's chief fund-raisers is accused of war profiteering.
The widely-respected New England Journal of Medicine slams McCain's health care ideas:
"...The choice facing health care professionals, like all Americans, is basic: Who deserves to be trusted with the stewardship of America's health care system? The McCain proposal violates the bedrock principle that major health policy reforms should first do no harm. It would risk the viability of employer-sponsored insurance and the welfare of chronically ill Americans in pell-mell pursuit of a radical vision of consumer-driven health care. Senator McCain's plan does not demonstrate the kind of judgment needed in a potential commander in chief of our health care system."
And it seems there's no end to racist actions by morons. As Sen. Barack Obama said at the debate Wednesday night, such negativity says more about the McCain campaign than it does about him.
It appears the Republicans are reduced to scraping the bottom of the barrel.

And McCain acts as though he's the aggrieved, misunderstood victim in this campaign! There is nothing I would past the Republicans at this stage of the game so close to the election. I am just waiting on the bomb they're going to detonate to try and shift things.

I've been just appalled by the videos/audios I've heard of the insults and calls inciting violence at some of these recent GOP rallies. Though I am for free speech, I think calling for another human being to be killed is as unethical as shouting 'Fire!' in a crowded theater - and that silence in the face of such behavior is nearly complicitous...Aren't there laws against inciting a riot/lynch mob? I really thought we had come farther than this, since the sixties...
One can only hope (and pray!) they're a teeny tiny minority of militants, and that they don't actually reflect the mindset of the republican party members at large. SIGH.

Tara,
I don't know if you saw this earlier today on MSNBC but if not, I think you will find it interesting. It's a conversation between Congresswoman Bachmann and Chris Matthews. Bachmann advocates that the American media "take a great look at the views of the people of congress and see if they are pro-America or anti-America." It seems that in the eyes of some, if you are not a Conservative Republican you're anti-American, America hating leftist liberal.

Scary. I just understand how so many see the world in just black and white.

If the Secret Service is keeping the press from doing its job, then why doesn't the press boycott her rallies altogether and not give her any coverage at all?
And on another tangent, even though Jon Stewart pointed it out first, Joe the Plumber's now answered more reporters' questions than Sarah Palin.

Oh politics - I am so glad that Canada is done with theirs for awhile but I am still enjoying the debate in the States. Probably because Obama is going to win - and rightly so - so we can all sit back and watch the last minute drama fly without worrying about it too much. I do feel sorry for McCain though. I think he means well, he just made one huge wrong choice (in my opinion, anyway) and now he feels he can only insult his way back to the top.

I was listening to the news on the way home from work tonight and heard about McCains buddy Joe! Ain't this a B****, I thought to myself. These people will stop at nothing!! And he owes back taxes! The news added, Joe isn't even licensed to be a plumber! Now we know why!
You know I had to come on over here and give you a visit!
I have heard it all!
