In case you didn't notice, there's a new banner here, reflecting my optimism that by working together, we can help elect Sen. Barack Obama as president of the United States. The "Yes We Can" fence belongs to a family in San Francisco's Inner Sunset. I'd really like to meet them, because I admire their bold, audacious statement, reflecting the courage of their conviction.
When my friend TangoBaby told me in March about the fence, I asked her to take a photo and she kindly obliged. Recently she agreed I could use the photo in a masthead. She's also written about the Obama fence. Brian Rowan, the talented IT guy who puts together my banners, has lately been working on a new batch. I asked him to use the Obama fence photo, along with other images to create two pre-election banners. He got the logo from the Obama for America website and combined it with the "Yes We Can" fence. Et voila! YES WE CAN!

THANK YOU for this Post!! I applaud you!

Yeah!! We need to keep the optimism flowing...Mr R and I were downtown on Sunday have coffee with friends and we went into the Dem headquarters to get an Obama yard sign, they were out, went through 800 in a week!!! As we walked home he said 'is that an Obama sign in our yard?' and sure enough, an Obama fairy had put a sign in our yard.....

love the banner!
Today at his NM rally McCain drew one loud shout when he asked who Obama is: "terrorist"
Down in Florida Sarah Palin triggered "KILL HIM" from her audience.
If they keep up this incendiary chant until November, one of their backers is going to light the fuse.
Irresponsible is far too soft a word.

Well done. I pray Obama gets in. The world literally will be a different place if he does. I hope he gets in, and keeps all his promises. Yes we can!!!
Yes you can!

Great banner Tara. And we have SNL and Tina Fey doing their part to put Palin in perspective for the country. I sure you have but if you haven't, catch up with Tina's imitation of Palin for a great laugh.

I love it also! Now if I could just get fellow Texans to agree! I hate it that folks in other countries (seeing your comments) think we're such a bunch of idiots over here. Happily, we're not all stupid cowboys with an agenda and a hate of taxes. My husband is a physician and pays a lot in taxes. He'd just like to see it go to more social issues, such as the psychiatric patients he sees at the state hospital. The homeless, the forgotten. The Meals On Wheels clients I see when I take them a hot meal. This country is in poor shape, with idiots at the helm. You can damned well betcha I'm voting for Obama!

Tara, this is the loveliest banner you could have - right now - photographed by a talented girl for...another talented girl!
Obama, yes !!!

I hope all the positive messages here are right. After living thru the last two elections I am frightened and won't rest easy until Obama is elected and it's Nov 5th with no recounts or other nonsense. I read Frank Rich's article yesterday about the race becoming Obama vs Palin. This is how it seems to me too. She seems to feel she is entitled to be president thru nothing more than blind (I didn't blink) ambition. She is so mean spirited and would stop at nothing to feed her own ego.

No doubt anymore: all the polls shows that O and B will have a victory party!
Gallup, Rasmussen and many others; and you USA voter's dont change your mind on the last minute.

Hi Tara...
I love the banner. And I love Bruce Springsteen too! I can't bring myself to watch the video because it makes me homesick. :(

Things are getting ugly on the right and I think it will backfire. I voted for Hillary in the primary as did my husband and changed my mind because of the nastiness. He has to win or we lose.
