My cousins Pam (left) and Jenni (right) and my daughter Jordana in July in San Francisco.
Today we Americans pause to give thanks for our many blessings. I am thankful for my family and friends; for long-awaited dreams unfolding and for a smart new president to lead our nation forward. I am thankful we can hope for brighter days ahead, ripe with possibility and opportunity.
Wishing you and yours a Happy Thanksgiving filled with lovely, memorable moments and good food.
Please spare thoughts and prayers for the people of Mumbai.

i love the photograph and that jordana is holding a bag with your name upon it.. even if it is virtually attached it looks so daughter-loves-her-motherish. it is like Go Mom!!!!!

What a lovely family, Tara!
Yes, we have much to be thankful for here, too - especially being relatively safe (as long as you're not at Wal-mart or ToysRus, today - sheesh). But still we're much safer than so many people in the world. I feel so sad about the situation in Mumbai. My thoughts and prayers are with all of the innocent victims of the awful terrorism that is running rampant...

It is always nice to see a picture of your lovely daughter. I am horrified with what is going on in Mumbai. When will this senseless ignorance and hatred end?

What's going on in Mumbai right now is just too frightening and tragic. I have had to censure myself a little from this story. My mind could just not take it all in.
But you are right. We do need to focus on our blessings and our good fortunes at this time. I hope our momentum will keep us moving forward in positive ways and that our direction will help to keep such tragedies like Mumbai from happening in the future. I don't know how that might be, but I still hope.

I've been glued to CNN as I watched the tragedy unfold. When I awoke this morning I heard of the American father and his 13 year old daughter that were two of the hostages killed. I'm very angry and saddened.
I hope you had a lovely turkey day! Keep your eye out for that "Laura." ;) XXOO
