Birds in the Bois de Boulogne, Paris include a blue tit (above) and a juvenile herring gull (below). Click photos to view detail.
An adult herring gull.
The robin is a regular resident of the Bois.
Wood pigeons (as opposed to the multitudes of scruffy pigeons we see in city centers).
Photos by David Holmes.

Hi Constance - Thank you - David took the pictures, while walking in the Bois. Isn't it interesting how the birds all have unique characteristics? xoxox

Robin, thank you. But I can't claim credit for these images. David, the birdwatcher, took them.

Good question about the birds in Gaza. Thanks for your insightful comments, Jeanie.

I am looking at both this post and the one above about Gaza -- yes, plenty of blame to go around. I see these lovely birds that bring such hope and joy and beauty, and wonder -- are there any birds in Gaza now? Did they flee as the people would like to do? I don't know -- it just makes me sad.

Sad but true about mankind repeating mistakes. And yes, we are all connected.

This is heart wrenching. I mean it's as though history keeps repeating it's self or is it man repeating himself. I don't know. It makes my heart ache because I care and feel bad for these people, they too are my brothers and sisters.

Thanks, Gill. Yes, it's all heartbreaking and incomprehensible that the Israelis and Hamas keep making the same mistakes, over and over again.

Being able to fly must be a wonderful thing - although eating worms and insects - not so much. :) Thanks for your comments.

If only - what you don't see in those photos is ice covering several ponds and snow covering the ground. And it's snowing as I write this!

Marilyn, thank you. Will check out the link.

I read these links this morning Tara.
Too much to process, isn't it.
Why? These people don't deserve this. Who elects leaders like these? There is much I don't understand obviously.
My thoughts are with the ones without medical care right now who are dying in hospitals of wounds that could otherwise be treated.
The poor children too.
It breaks my heart.

(Lovely bird photos however!) :)

I love birds, no matter which kind. I often dream of flying, as many do. I can't imagine what it's like to spread your wings and soar in the blue skies, seemingly weightless.
