"Dancing on the ceiling," in a Paris department store vitrine.
Whatever you're doing to celebrate St. Valentine's Day, hope you have fun! Remember that Lionel Richie song "Dancing on the Ceiling?" Check out this '80s video, with guest appearances by Cheech and Rodney Dangerfield.

towards the allure of love walks
a road where nothing lives." - Rumi

White roses are my favourite, as well. I like the fact that they seem pure, lush and decadent - at the same time!
Posted by: Tara Bradford | 16 February 2009 at 16:24
Poor you! Hope you get to make up for it by having time off for something fun very soon.

White roses are my favorite! Don't they just smell amazing? Like vanilla and caramel and spice and honey... I got some white and some rose colored ones. Happy Valentine's Day, Tara.

Tara,
I was thinking of Lionel Richie just today.... and dancing on the ceiling reminds me of Fragonard's paintings. Happy Valentine's Day to you !

It really does make you want to dance, doesn't it? I was amused by the fashion in the video. Everything was very extreme, wasn't it? :)

Helen, you're right about the Fred Astaire link. I think there was a scene in one of his movies in which he "danced on the ceiling." Those days were fun - big hair, big shoulders, big fun! :) Aren't the windows terrific? Those stylists are so imaginative.

Thanks, Constance! I appreciate the bouquet of happy thoughts. Hope your Valentine's Day is filled with love. xoxox

How funny- I loved that song in high school (along with many others) and still find it infectiously motivating- my toes are tapping, my head is wiggling around... I'm not dancing on the ceiling, I'm dancing in my SEAT!

What a fun trip down memory lane! In the 80's, I wrote rock reviews for a local entertainment paper even though I was a "little long in the tooth" for schlepping to all the clubs and concerts. The music of the 80's was fun music for the most part and I still love it. However, I cannot help but think of Fred Astaire when I see that video!
As for the department store ceiling...c'est magnifique! These windows are divine!
Thank you so much for all the great stuff you find to share!
