Art Nouveau door, Antwerp, Belgium.
My friend Di and her clever husband Gert have done a wonderful thing for me. For eight years, I've had to go to London to buy laptops with English keyboards, as well as obscure computer or camera gear. Not anymore! Thanks to Di and Gert, I was alerted to Pixmania - which - wonder of wonders - delivers computers with English keyboards within France and Belgium!
My first purchase was a little blue netbook, which arrived today. Except for one puzzling quirk with the keyboard - resolved, after Gert suggested a simple solution - it's terrific! Petite and perfect for travel or gadding about town. Best of all, the keyboard is wide enough to type easily. Can you tell I'm already envisoning journeys, with the netbook stashed in my correspondent's bag?
Thank you, Di and Gert! If you haven't already, check out Di's website, Woman Wandering. Did I mention she's an extremely-talented photographer??!!

Thank you! Actually, Robin, that photo was taken early in October. I haven't had much time for photography lately, as I've been buried in book rewrites. But I'm hoping to have more time for photography soon. xo

Not as exciting as your piano! Wouldn't it be great if scents (only good ones) could waft from afar through the laptop? :)

Dear Tara,
So nice to see the Obama's hands with Lincoln's bible,

English in France? Shhhh! Don't let the French hear you! :) Yes the netbook is terrific, so far. Best of all, it doesn't weigh much, when coupled with the cameras. xoxox

Relyn, sorry to disappoint you - hopefully, next time! Isn't that door lovely? And the netbook seems like a good thing, so far.

Thanks, Christina! Yes, what a thrill to have an English keyboard shipped from within France. And today I even got a computer guy to speak English to me! Progress! :)(And isn't Di's photography fantastic??!!)

Ahhh... That door. Man, oh man. So glad you found such goodies. And such friends. Hey, I hope midnight in Paris comes soon. I'm feeling lucky today.

That is perfect for you! I just threw away the French overlay that accompanies any computer purchase here in Canada. Phones and such have them too...! So why don't they provide English ones in France?
At least your friends helped you out. The little Blue notebook is tres cool. Yes, put it in your correspondents bag and get out there and report report report!!!!
