"A poet's work is to name the unnameable; to point at frauds; to take sides; start arguments; shape the world and stop it from going to sleep." - Salman Rushdie

"Let a man overcome anger by love, let him overcome evil by good; let him overcome the greedy by liberality; the liar, by truth!" - The Way of the Buddha
I love this particular style of Buddha head. My Dutch grandfather followed the Buddhist faction of Theosophy in Europe as a young man, and collected Buddha statues throughout his life. They have since been donated to Buddhist temples in Upstate NY where he spent the later part of his life.
My husband, daughter and I recently visited the Asian art museum in San Francisco last week, and it was a truly wonderful collection. I still haven't gotten to those photos, but will post them soon.
Thanks for this!
Well - that was just the nudge I needed to get off the computer and upstairs to my cushion to continue my 90 commitment to sitting 20 mins per day - I'm a wriggly little thing and some days it is a challenge. But I do it for peace.
I love your beautiful photos and your your thoughtful blog entries. Just discovered you a week ago and have been keeping up ever since. Thanks for sharing.
