No matter which team wins, remember, it's only a game. I'm just sayin'.
Here, have a mini banana split; you'll feel better.
If football's not your thing, take a look at Christina's beautiful photo of Nikki Giovanni, with the bonus of a poem.
Photos (top) from Farmers' Market, Embarcadero and Andalus, San Francisco.

I'm going to email you about how badly the Boy behaved because if I commit it to the internet, somehow he'll find out and kill me.
I happen to enjoy football once in a while, when the game is exciting. Generally the trick is to watch it in that last quarter so you don't get overwhelmed. You can be eating ice cream and reading poetry up until the 4th quarter.

I was a San Francisco Giants fan during World Series days and a New York Yankees fan when I lived in New York - but really only because of the comraderie of it all. One of my friend's sons plays for the Houston Astros. But the truth is, I don't really like baseball - it's too slow. I asked a French friend what she thought of baseball, after seeing a game in Miami. Her response? "I fell asleep." :)

Relyn, I'd taken either one over football too!

I'd rather be at the Embarcadero than the Superbowl. (In any case, I prefer baseball!)

Barbara, as you know, soccer is huge in much of the world. I like it too, although I'm more a fan of rugby. Isn't that sign terrific? Your son must have a great sense of humor.

The thing in the middle was a banana, covered with some sort of cookie crumble and caramel and who knows what else - it was delicious!

I'm a soccer fan, too, but rugby is my favourite. I've been reading Nikki Giovanni since I was a teenager. She's amazing. As for banana splits, started eating those as a child at the local Dairy Queen. The one in the photograph was the first one I'd had in many, many years and it took three of us to eat it, even though it was billed as a "mini" banana split! :)

Football is definitely not my thing. Ice cream is, though. And poetry.

I like football a lot, but the one played with the feet. I have never been able to keep away from a banana split for long. And I just think Nikki is a dream. Thanks for sharing. Off to read the poem.

TOO FUNNY - my youngest son carts that very funny 'whining' sign back and forth from college. As for me I really, really, really hope soccer continues to gain popularity here in the States. I love it. I love the pace. I love how the whole thing can change thoroughly in just a second, with one kick. yes.

Wait! I'm drooling over here. I'm trying to figure out what that delicious thing in the middle is. Is that some sort of yummy batter that's been fried or a lady finger. Is it crispy? OMGoodness!
Wait is that banana in there? LMAO! Yum!

I love all sundaes... I know I would love this one, just as much. Oh, how about one day when we meet, we read nikki giovanni and eat banana splits. You can do most of the reading. : )

Actually, Kay, I prefer rugby to football. And sometimes there's even some poetry involved in a rugby match, wouldn't you agree? :) I agree with you about Nikki Giovanni's poetry - wonderful! As for that ice cream dish, it took three of us to eat that! :)

See, a super bowl to me is something big that you keep fruit in.

Give me the poetry any day - marvellous! Although that ice cream dish looks good enough to die for! Mmmmmm .....
