Somehow the drudgery of everyday chores looks more appealing in this setting, doesn't it? All photographs taken at Antoni Gaudi's La Pedrera, Barcelona, Spain.
Stacks of ironed linens.
Children's clothing ready to wear.
Washbasin and maid's uniform.
Travel trunk.
Tara Bradford is traveling. In her absence, timed posts should appear.

I love the red and white cross-stitched sampler and the apron on the antique sewing machine!

In Barcelona but looking so familiar like New England where I live.
We have in our home more than one Shaker style shelf in cherry very similar to the shelf in the photo. I also have a reproduction ironing board like the one on the shelf. They were used for sleeves and fancy trims but mine is used for doll making. We have many empty wooden spools like the one near the sewing basket which I have vintage trims wrapped around.
Having visited several Shaker Villages with serene laundry rooms like this, I envy the order and simplicity --though I hate doing laundry.

I like to think they smell like they have been hanging on a backyard line. Fresh.

I do hope your own travel trunk is a bit easier to carry!
