The entrance to Kan Zaman near Amman, Jordan, a unique complex featuring shops and restaurants.
A charming shop owner and artisan custom-creates a custom sand-in-the-bottle design for my daughter Jordana.
The painstaking process took only about five minutes!
This is one of the artisan's more elaborate art pieces. At Kan Zaman, you can request any design you like.

when I read your blog, I sometimes just cry for no reason.

What skill this takes! The camels are charming and the sunrise in the last bottle is gorgeous.

Marilyn, the sand is packed in so firmly, it doesn't shift - not even in luggage during international travel, as my daughter can attest!

Quite charming! I remember making little jars filled with colored sand with a Girl Scout troop that I lead years ago. Not easy!

Beautiful sand in the bottle. How unique for sure. It seems like it would be difficult to transport without getting mixed up.
