Getting an unruly flock of sheep out of the road, Ajloun, Jordan.
Live sheep and goats were for sale all over the country on the eve of the Eid Muslim holiday.
A child tentatively touches a sheep.
Children continue to bother the sheep feeding at a trough, annoying this ram.
This little boy is a blur of motion as he touches a sheep, then turns to run.
After their purchase, this family heads home. Each animal costs around $250 and up. The sheep would have been slaughtered and eaten during the Eid celebrations.
The little boy (center) with energy to burn certainly enjoyed attention.
These laughing boys could barely stay still long enough for a photograph.
Young shepherds with their flock at twilight.

I've seldom seen a sheep I didn't like, but I'd rather knit with them than eat them!

look at those smiles...
Why do they mark the sheep? Is it like branding? Or does it help to categorize them? I'm so naive...

The little boy on the right in the last picture is so casual in his stance. I love it after seeing the energy of the other boys. How fun to see the shepherd and his flock.
Have a delightful Valentine's Day.
