Fresh blackberries and blueberries from a local produce market. Why post such similar photos? The focus is different in each image and I couldn't choose.
Delicious ripe, juicy berries. Time to make a pie, I think. That is, once I figure out what to do with the blue-grey antique French mercantile cabinet (pictured below) delivered today to our petite Paris apartment. Seems I underestimated its size. As you can see, it is now taking up entirely too much space in the middle of the salon, leaving little room to maneuver.
On Wednesday, my objective is to find a place for the cabinet (something else will have to go) or arrange for its delivery to a friend's house near Versailles, who has space to store it (until next spring's move to Amsterdam). The only problem is that the careless delivery guys scraped the front of it on the elevator. Notice the horizontal white streak on the top front of the cabinet (directly beneath the numbered drawers piled on top). Will have to ask the seller to come over with paint for touch-ups.
Have to sort something fast, as house guests are arriving Friday! Back soon with more photos and stories from London and Amsterdam.

I just stared and stared at those photos. I see your quandary. They are all yummy!

That awesome HUGE cabinet that doesn't fit in your house unless you throw something out the window, proves that you and I are long lost sisters.
I knew it!!!
We have to have what we love. No matter what ;)
J'taime! xoxo

The cabinet is wonderful -- I can see why it came home with you! And those berries look fabulous! Had blackberries this morning with my yogurt and cereal -- they were so sweet and it was heavenly!

"Kiwi Bois" is a tinted wax for furniture that is great for hiding scratches. It comes in acajou, noyer, chene and ebene, etc. The best thing ever for antiques.
That's a nice chair in muslin on the right. Also like the girondol peeking up from the bottom of the photo.

Hi Tara,
Looks like you're in the thick of it! From the tiny peek around the drawers it looks like your apartment is amazing! I know how much work moving is so take your time and enjoy the process of going through all your pretty things! xc

The cabinet is splendid but I can not take my eyes off of the magnificent chair to the right. Would you show me more of it and tell me its story, please?

I'll buy the French mercantile cabinet off you if you can't find a place for it. I'm in dire need of furniture.

Oh could I use a cabinet like that. I am realizing my office is not functional, but not sure what to do. Love berry season and pie. I am thinking strawberries when I return next week from my small trip. This week I made sorbet with some left over marionberries from last year. Wish I could share.

That cabinet is truly & gloriously fabulous. I hope you don't have to end up storing it till your move next Spring and are successful in finding a place for it in your home! Although, I know ... sometimes easier said than done, I have a couple of terrific pieces in storage myself. And as maddening as that white 'scratch might be, it just adds character to the piece. ;-)
