White-faced street performer with little boy with painted face, South Bank, London.
Just back from a week in London and came across this article. At first, I thought it was a sick joke. Sadly, it's real. Read it and weep.
Update June 5th: Proof that there is some justice in this world: Steve Blair - the bigoted radio talk show host and city councilman who promoted this racist action - has been fired from KYCA Radio. Read more here.

Wow! So outrageous. Saw the update at the end of the article ... still, feels like too little too late.
Hope all is well with you my friend. Life here has been BuSY!

This is scary and extremely sad that our country has gotten to this level. Like JoJo, I had hope when Obama was elected that things would be better. I do believe all this negative crap is due to Obama being elected. It scares the old white men that are losing the control. They need to learn to grow up and do as God tells us to love one another.

It IS too sad... sad beyond words.

When the media is dominated with racist rhetoric, one cannot expect anything else. I live in New England, USA, and many here support the "Tea Party" and Arizona's law. Very sad-- and disappointing. Between the economy and these sorts of non-issues becoming mainstream issues, the mood is somber here. I have never known people to be so disagreeable and opinionated---little support for this administration even in a "blue state." The media has done a good job at dividing people.

How on earth do they figure making all the children's faces white is any kind of a solution? How traumatic for the children whose faces in the mural get repainted. Here is my thought...paint all the children's faces in the mural rainbow colors. Red and green and yellow and orange and purple. Yes, weeping with you.

When Obama was elected I had hoped that this meant my country had changed and that I could consider moving back. But when I read articles like that I think I will just stay where I am.

This is so sad.....here in South Africa we are also still struggling with the far left and right groups in such matters

It's time to build a wall between Arizona and Texas and the rest of this country.
