Prayer candles, Swayambhunath Temple, Kathmandu, Nepal.
Offering prayers for the victims of ignorance and hate.
"One can overcome the forces of negative emotions - like anger and hatred - by cultivating their counterforces: love and compassion." - The Dalai Lama.
What a wise man he is, love the quote. You bring such lovely thought provoking messages lately, so much food for thought here.

Beautiful photo.
Wonderful quote.
What the world needs now is love, sweet love. And yes, compassion too.

What an incredible photo. I'm not sure any lessons from this tragedy will actually be implemented. Sad but true.

A very moving photo! All those candles softling blowing in the wind symbolise a sense of inner strength!

Thanks for the quote and beautiful picture. How sad our world has come to when people know no other way but to kill.

If neuroplasticity is factual, then what the Dalai Lama said is true, but I think it's hard to see sometimes because we still haven't reached critical mass in human evolution. As a species we still don't believe this is a viable basis for all our choices
If you've experienced it once in your life, and I suspect everyone has at least once, then it can be repeated infinitely.
Again, Tara, well done.

On my blog, I have made a statement as well. I sincerely hope the above is true but it seems to be the opposite sometimes...
