Quite the contrast from a jam-packed office corner in Paris to this spartan space in the Netherlands. Three huge windows provide lots of light. The "Louis Louis" chair was a gift from my friend Di Overton of Ghost Furniture.
My original desk is stored with a friend in France. I bought this French Art Deco table in Holland for a fraction of its value. While not meant for a desk, that's its function at the moment. The usual office supplies are stored in a vintage chest.
Last August I visited a jeweler in Delft, whose elegant studio had Fortuny lamps and an Art Deco table just like this one. I was thrilled to find this table for such a great price.
The lamp is made from a wooden element of an antique Chinese bed.
Won't you post pictures of your work space/home office on your blog?

Tara, it doesn't surprise me for a bit that you have a lovely workspace with a wonderful table, lamp and chairs. It is simply lovely -- and so full of light! I just wish I could clean mine up enough to make it photo-worthy -- I'd like to think yours is so tidy because you're new in the neighborhood. Probably not true, but don't burst my bubble!

I'm so glad I stopped by! Love your new crib! I especially like the painting. I'm glad you are settled in and enjoying your new surroundings. I can't wait to hear more about your new home.

Agree with Yoli BUT. Love this space. Love both spaces!
I love using non-desk furniture for desks. Makes life much more interesting! I'll post some photos too but my space is far more cluttered with Barbie dolls :)
Loving the Zen vibe in your new place. Have fun in the UK talk to you soon beautiful!!! xoxo

I too love both your old and new working spaces. I'm up for the challenge, definitely, but first I need to tidy up and re-style my working area - you've given me a great incentive with your clear, clean, stylish desk!

Lovely office space, but it looks as if your computer desktop is crying out to be personalised with some of your wonderful photos!

Such a pretty place! I even like the bricks. And the light! Oh, that light! And those Macs! Yes, I live my life in exclamations. :) So, how can I not exclaim over such a pretty space?

The Netherlands always make me want to downsize, whereas Paris made me want to stuff my luggage with antiques and gave me a previously unknown tasste for brocade. So it all makes sense, you're chameleoning to your environment beautifully.

I absolutely loved your dark office in Paris. It transported me in time and made me feel like a little kid again looking at my uncle's office. This is indeed a stark contrast but equally lovely with all the natural light and that stunning chair. Where did you purchase the Fortuny lamps? I need one! So amazingly beautiful!

The chair is perfect! My next question....will you adopt me? LOL
Your office is beautiful! I can only imagine how wonderful the rest of your home is. I am so glad I found your blog...it truly is one of my favorite places on the net.

First of all, I somehow missed your move from Paris so CONGRATS to you for new experiences, new culture, new material with which to be inspired by. :)
Second, I too love your new space. My office doesn't even have a window so I would most definitely welcome the light. Enjoy!

Oh Tara, Your work space is beautiful and I love all the light from the windows. It definitely is a contrast from the dark corner you had in Paris. The table and the lamp are beautiful.
My work space is a mess right now, but haven't figured out how to make it more tidy. But thoughts are brewing for changes in the future.
