Temple across the river at Panuti, Nepal.
Thinking of the people in Nepal, India and Tibet affected by a 6.9 earthquake on Sunday. At least 65 people reportedly were killed and more than 100,000 people left homeless in the isolated Himalayan region. Rescue efforts by Indo-Tibetan border police, Indian soldiers and numerous medical teams remain hampered by heavy rains and landslides.

I don't know what's going on with the world, with the weather. But this breaks my heart. My thoughts and prayers are with these people as they struggle to pull their lives back together.

I have a friend that just emailed me a few minutes ago. She was visiting a tea plantation in Darjeeling. She is now on her way to Delhi to return back to Portland tomorrow. She said at the plantation the school moved 3" off the foundation and there were cracks in the wall of her room. She and the group she was traveling with had to take a 2 1/2 hour detour by jeep around a landslide to get out of the region. She said there was more devastation in the Sikkim region. So your post is definitely touching home for me as I hear about this earthquake.
